This is a song I wrote. It was produced at Big Shot Music Studios with Daryle Hughes and Dexter Redding (son of Otis Redding). I hope you enjoy it. I think people will like this song when they hear it. If you like it, let me know.
Gettin’ started and the sun is up
Got mornin’ dew on my pick up
Drankin lots of coffee but I’m still tired
If I don’t go to work, then I’ll be fired
My boss told me yesterday when I was late
Tomorrow son we wont negotiate
(Chorus)
Headed down the highway in a four wheel drive
I’ve got to do somethin’ keep my will alive
I have things to do, I know where to go
But I can’t stay away from that rodeo
I remember way back on a Saturday
I took my girl out to see a play
Left my seat and told her I’ll be back
She found a ride home, my stuff was packed
(Chorus)
Headed down the highway in a four wheel drive
I’ve got to do somethin’ keep my will alive
I have things to do, I know where to go
But I can’t stay away from that rodeo
So I went to the doctor he said I had the flu
It’s called, “Watchem’ ropem” I don’t care what ya do”
He tried to help me out but there’s no cure
I’m a rodeoaholic, that’s for sure
(Chorus)
Headed down the highway in a four wheel drive
I’ve got to do somethin’ keep my will alive
I have things to do, I know where to go
But I can’t stay away from that rodeo
